screenshotSep 16, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Season 5 of America’s Got Talent is officially a wrap and we have a winner. With some of the most fascinating talents seen in the top 10 and top 4 this year, the choice was hard for the Americans. In the end, however, many feel that the public chose the right talent. Michael Grimm, the talented singer/musician from Mississippi, was adjudged the winner of the season in the end. The finals also saw some stellar performances from the other contestants who had won American hearts and reached the top 4.

Show host Nick Cannon announced at the beginning of the finale that each of the top 4 will get to perform with their heroes. First up was Prince Poppycock, who decided to get together with Donna Summers for ‘Last Dance’. Next up was Michael Grimm, who sang with his ‘hero’ Jewel, the duet Me and Bobby McGee. Fighting Gravity as usual took things up one level in the final round as they performed with Lionel Ritchie, who sang ‘Dancing On The Ceiling’ which the dancers literally translated into their dancing to the amazement of the audience and the judges. Finally, it was the 10 year old opera singer Jackie Evancho who showed great excitement in meeting her idol Sarah Brightman. In what was one of the most touching and heart warming performances of the evening, the two sang ‘Time To Say Goodbye’ to perfection.

Michael Grimm walked away with $1 million and a show at Las Vegas. The judges, however, were also all praises for the other contestants as well and Sharon Osbourne went on to add that she wants the front seat tickets when Fighting Gravity perform in Las Vegas.
