Big B gets nostalgic in Kolkata (Movie Snippets)

Akshay Kumar New Delhi, July 27 (IANS) His first job, his first salary of Rs.500 and his first taste of being independent — all this flashed through Big B’s mind when he landed in Kolkata to promote his new film “Aarakshan”.

“Just landed in Kolkata for promo of ‘Aarakshan’ .. so nostalgic ! Spent 7 years of my early life in this great city,” Amitabh posted on microblogging site Twitter.

“All the familiar haunts, the streets, the restaurants, the people, the air, environment ..had landed here in 1962 to look for a job! Those were the days my friend ..the first salary, and the first feel of being independent ..those days will never return ..pity!!

The 68-year-old also revealed about his first job in the city, “Kolkata .. Calcutta then .. first job as executive in Bird & Co.,.. salary Rs 500/- per month, after cuts etc. Rs 460/- !!”


‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ was a breathless journey: Dhaval Thakur

Model Dhaval Thakur, who won the fourth season of Colors’ show “Fear Factor - Khatron Ke Khiladi” along with actress Aarti Chhabria, describes his journey on the adventur show as breathless.

“Honestly, the journey of ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ has been breathless. It is one platform where you get to widen your horizons by conquering your inhibitions,” Dhaval told IANS.

Praising the show’s host Akshay Kumar, he said: “Akshay as a host has been a great learning experience. His confidence, his positivity towards life acted as a morale booster for all of us.”
