Bieber presented with a $100,000 electric car
March 2nd, 2012 - 9:21 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLos Angeles, Mar 2 (THAINDIAN NEWS) On his 18th birthday, Canadian singer Justin Bieber was presented with a $100,000 electric car. The vehicle was given to the teen sensation on the Ellen DeGeneres show by manager Scott Braun.
While presenting the car, Braun told Bieber that, “We wanted to make sure, since you love cars, that when you’re on the road you are always looking environmentally friendly we decided to get you a car that would make you stand out. I think you know where I’m going, and you’re kind of freaking out right now. That’s a Fisker Karma.”
Bieber seemed to be in complete shock as the curtain was removed to reveal the vehicle. The Fisker Karma electric car is often touted as the first luxury electric car in the world.
The electric car also has a solar panel that helps to boost the power of the car. In a sunny day, the manufacturers say the vehicle can go a distance of 200,000 miles in a year when charged by the solar. When the vehicle is fully charged with electricity, it can just go between 30 and 50 miles before the battery drains.
Bieber celebrated his 18th birthday on Thursday (the 1st of March 2012).
