Boston, Sep 23 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Rival channel’s news couple Bianca de la Garza and David Wade are heading down splitsville. They are calling it quits after 12 years of marriage and a three year old daughter together.

They announced their spilt through their manager Mendes Napoli, “This is a very difficult time for both of them. Their focus remains today, and in the future, on raising their daughter. I hope you will understand how difficult this time is and respect their need for privacy.”

Binana works for WCVB-TV (Channel 5), and David is with their competitor channel WBZ-TV (Channel 4). They were married in 1997. They had a daughter in 2006.

Some sharp viewers said that David stopped wearing his wedding ring some time ago. And the couple’s house in Milton is also on for sale. There were rumors earlier this year that, there may have been problems in the marriage for some time. An audience member said the couple seemed cold and aloof when they hosted the New England Emmy Awards together this past spring.

In a Globe profile of the pair last year, Wade said, of competing with his wife for ratings: “For 30 seconds, there was a feeling of, all right, we are going to compete against each other. Does that mean we are going to have ill feelings toward the other. . .?’’ De la Garza said of the rivalry: “It brings out the best in both of us.”
