Beyonce drops her father as manager

London, March 29 (IANS) Singer Beyonce Knowles has dropped her father Mathew, who has taken care of her projects for over a decade, as her manager.
Beyonce, who has been guided by him since she first began her career in girl band Destiny’s Child in the late 1990s, said she was “grateful” for her dad’s backing.
“I am grateful for everything he has taught me. I grew up watching both he and my mother manage me and own their own businesses. They are hard working entrepreneurs and I will continue to follow in their footsteps,” she said in a statement.
“He is my father for life and I love my dad dearly. I am grateful for everything he has taught me.”
According to contactmusic.com, Mathew said the decision to stop managing Beyonce was “mutual”.
He said he still supports his daughter and continues to be “very proud of who she is”.
“The decision to part was mutual. We did great things together and I know that she will continue to conquer new territories in music and entertainment,” he said.
“Business is business and family is family. I love my daughter and I am very proud of who she is and all she has achieved. I look forward to her continued great success.”
