Betty White Wins Lifetime Achievement Award

betty1Los Angeles, Jan 24, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Veteran actress Betty White was honored with the lifetime achievement award for her illustrious acting career at the 16th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards which was held on Saturday. The 88 year old much acclaimed television star received the honor from her “The Proposal” co-star Sandra Bullock and the interaction between the two stars kept the audiences highly entertained.

Before giving away the award, Sandra Bullock gave a detailed account of the spectacular career of the sitcom veteran which spans across six decades. Moreover, the Hollywood actress also jokingly added that she finds “The Golden Girls” star ‘annoying’, to which the veteran actress reacted with her own sense of humor by saying that it was amazing how far a girl as plain as the “Miss Congeniality’ star can go. As Betty White came up onstage to accept the award, she was greeted with a standing ovation by the audiences.

All the praise and accolades bestowed on the veteran actress left her immensely touched who later added the the honor given to her marked the highest point in her professional career.

Betty White started her career in television and later earned a name for herself by starring in shows such as “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” as well as “The Golden Girls”. The veteran actress is known for her game show appearances and boasts of six Emmy Awards during her illustrious career.

Meanwhile, Saturday’s prestigious honor has resulted in an upsurge in speculations about the age of the actress on the internet with many people searching the net for information about Betty White and her iconic career.
