Feb 11, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Actress Betty White is the current favorite host of the popular show “Saturday Night Live.” That too, when she is not really a part of the show. However, a group of fans, both of her and the show, have started a movement to push her incorporation into “Saturday Night Live,” as the host of the show. The group calls themselves “Betty White To Host SNL (Please)?”, and already has about 156,000 fans, and counting. The Facebook page of the group cites the reputation and the resume of the actress, stressing that she would indeed be the best person to host the comedy show.

It is not surprising that Betty White has found so many supporters in Facebook. The 88-year-old actress is one of the most well-known comediennes of her era. To top it all, she has not lost any of her natural humor, something that can be seen in her hilarious acceptance speech at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, nor her flair for comic roles, as evident from her recent Super Bowl Snickers advertisement.

The group advocating for Betty White states all these, as support for their theory that the octogenarian would be the natural choice for a show that thrives on comedy skits and spoofs, something that Betty White would be able to handle with elan. Moreover, the members also suggest that handing over the hosting duties of the “Saturday Night Live” to her would be a great way to honor the fact that this year would mark her eighth decade in show business. A recent post suggested that the group is getting heard, after contacting NBC and “Saturday Night Live.”
