Jan 5 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Ted tucks his daughter in on the sofa in his office where he has her sleeping. Veridian Dynamics has a deadline to meet to produce the best advanced sleep system, in trying to come up with prototype the staff is working more than 14 hours a day, leaving little to no time for a personal life. This is why Ted’s daughter is sleeping in his office.

The long hours are bring the moral of the staff to all time low at Veridian causing tension and disrupting work. Ted complains to Veronica that the staff needs some time off from the heavy work load; she agrees they need something to boost their spirits. Celebrating their best worker during these long hours the office surprises employee Gordon Jenkins for his excellent work and dedication. Ted and the staff present him with a cake only to find him dead behind his desk. Ted forces Veronica to give ti me off to the staff since the lack of sleep is killing the employees. She agrees and lets everyone have time off for the memorial service of Jenkins.

Veronica uses the memorial service of Gordon Jenkins for a motivational pep talk to the staff. Cheering they must work hard and long to finish the sleep system prototype by the deadline and that they will be doing it for Jenkins, Veronica got the staff revved up and motivated. Ted not happy about the speech Veronica had given tries to find a way to botch up the shipment of materials needed to produce the prototype. When his efforts fail he finally decides it is time to call it quits on the long work hours. He explains to the staff that they are being used by the company and that the long 14 hour days will be permanent. Ted marches to his office scoops up his daughter and begins to head home when the staff starts clapping for his courage and they soon follow him. Veridian decides the long hours are not hel pful to the company and things are soon back to some form of normalcy.
