Oct 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The 2010 Hip Hop Awards was aired on Tuesday on BET Chanel at 8PM and continued for a couple of hours. The show included the performances of some of hip-hop’s finest, including MC Hammer, Rock Ross, Diddy, and Soulja Boy. The award show was shot fro Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center on October 2, hosted by comedian Mike Epps.

The two Hip-Hop figures who won most of the awards were Nicki Minaj and Jay Z. Minaj. Nicki Minaj, who is reasonably new in the world of Hip Hop, accepted the award sporting a a black leather dominatrix outfit, a shocking pink nail polish and hair colored in a platinum blond shade. She says, that last year she was expecting the cypher, but since then she has come a long way and was expecting a debut for this year. She won three pf the coolest hip hop awards like Rookie of the Year, People’s Champ and the Made You Look award., to make her mentor Lil Wayne proud. She announced that her debut album Pink Friday, is all set to release on November 23, and she wants to thank all the hip hop girls, who loved her so much. She also feels that her award will pave the way for many other girls to pursue their dreams in hip hop.

Jay Z, who could not attend the award ceremony, won another three set of awards. He won the Perfect Combo for his hit single “Empire State of Mind”, which featured Alicia Keys. He also won the CD of the year for Blueprint 3 and finally the Best Live Performer award. Rick Ross earned the track of the year award, for “B.M.F. (Blowin’ Money Fast)”.
