BET Awards Honors Prince With Lifetime Achievement Award

9851Los Angeles, June 28, (THAINDIAN NEWS) 10th Annual BET Awards held on Sunday honored Prince with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award. The award ceremony was hosted by Queen Latifah and many a prominent faces of the music industry were handed over the BET awards for their astounding performances. Veteran funk-rocker Prince sat among the audience as Stevie Wonder paid his tribute to the star in a music video. On the other hand, Janelle Monae performed the all time favorite “Let’s Go Crazy” followed by disco diva Patti Labelle who performed the “Purple Rain”.

Prince was wearing a white turtle-neck and his signature silk pajamas and appeared to be very calm and soft-spoken as he took the stage on Sunday night. He thanked the crowd and all his fans and proclaimed that it gives him immense pleasure to be on the stage. The singer also underlined that he is happy to witness how the young performers are all full of energy and enthusiasm which according to him is an integral part of any performance.

The ex-funk rocker who have inspired many of his fans with his songs and his style underwent a religious conversion and is a changed man now. He spoke a few words of caution to the new musicians and said that he wants them to be true to their heart and avoid the mistakes which he made in his life. As he left the stage, Prince thanked the BET executives Stephen Hill and Debra Lee and referred the night to be “one of the best nights” of his life. LaBelle and Chaka Khan accompanied Prince as he left the stage.
