ber1Aug 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Rhonda McCullough, the wife of late comedian Bernie Mac has reportedly sued his longtime doctor accusing the doctor of failure to recognize the seriousness of symptoms of respiratory failure of her late husband. The doctor Rene M. Earles kept Bernie Mac at the clinic for several hours rather than calling an ambulance which led up to her husband’s death from heart failure in 2008. The media reported that Bernie Mac died in August 2008 at the age of 50 due to complications from pneumonia.

A reputed media source reported that Bernie Mac also suffered from sarcoidosis. However, Dr. Rene M. Earles defended himself by saying that “The Bernie Mac Show” star appeared weak but he waited to consult with another physician before sending him to hospital. The doctor said that Bernie Mac had told him that another doctor had given him injection for cold and then he called “House Party 3″ star’s doctor and heard that the comedian was diagnosed with pneumonia in both lungs. Dr. Rene M. Earles immediately advised Bernie Mac to shift to hospital.

The doctor also added in one of his interviews that Bernie Mac did not die the next day or even in next two days. The “Ocean’s Eleven” actor died in two weeks time and he had got over his original strain of pneumonia. However, the legal papers filed in Chicago’s Cook County Circuit Court states that the doctor failed to recognize the act upon abnormal “vital signs” and signs of “respiratory failure”. The media reports that Bernie Mac’s widow has sued the doctor for $50,000.
