September 15, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): The Bengali films have finally come of age and with major production houses chipping in with funds the shooting locations are going exotic too. Previously Bengali songs used to be shot in places like Ooty, Shimla, Kashmir etc. but now the filmmakers are opting for European destinations.

Recently the unit of Raj Chakrabarty’s “Dui Prithibi’ had a wonderful time shooting the song-and –dance sequences of the film in Venice. The filmmaker said that he went to Venice a year back to Holiday and wished if they could shoot a Bengali film there.”

The filmmaker said that he thinks God has been kind enough to grant his wish and within a year’s span they were in Venice shooting for “Dui Prithibi’. Speaking about the wonderful shooting schedule actor Jeet said that the entire team had a blast during the shoot and they had a blast throughout the shoot.

Koel Mallick plays the female lead in “Dui Prithibi’ and she sounded equally excited about shooting the song and dance sequence in the beautiful Italian city. The actress said that Venice is such a romantic place and each of the locations, they shot, was brilliant.”

Koel further added that the Colorful masks, which they used in the song-and–dance sequences, are very popular there and was used by the lovers, who would wear them while going out on a date. They have also shot on gondolas, which were amazing. We are sure the audience will like the polished look of the new Bengali films.
