Ben Stiller to receive MTV honour

Mumbai, May 28 (IANS) Hollywood funnyman Ben Stiller is to be honoured with a special prize at the upcoming MTV Movie Awards in recognition of his contribution to cinema.
The star will receive the MTV Generation Award, the ceremony’s top honour for an actor “who has captured the attention of the MTV audience throughout their career”, read a statement released by the channel Thursday.
“Ben Stiller has kept fans rolling with laughter since bursting onto the scene in ‘Reality Bites’,” the statement added.
Other actors who have previously been honoured with the award include Adam Sandler, Mike Myers, Tom Cruise and Jim Carrey.
The MTV Movie Awards will take place Sunday at the Gibson Amphitheatre in California.
