Ben Kingsley not for casting actors with personal problems

The British actor, best known for his portrayal of Mahatma Gandhi in Richard Attenborough’s 1982 film Gandhi, says that many actors accept film roles in order to forget their real-life problems, while they should be coping with their foibles away from film sets.

“I know some actors and they’re going through hell, and they think that they can use their baggage in their acting. They can’t,” Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

“The mistake that casting directors or producers often make is that if they cast actors who are antagonistic to each other in real life, that is going to work on screen. It won’t,” he added. (ANI)
