Belinda Carlisle’s speaks about her affair with Michael Hutchence
February 7th, 2011 - 8:27 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLondon, Feb 7 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Belinda Carlisle kept it to herself for all these years but she has finally revealed that she had a long relationship with the late rocker Michael Hutchence.
Hutchence was the frontman for the band INXS. Well that was obviously before he tragically took his own life in 1997. He had several women in his life and until his death he was believed to have slept with several celebrities.
Carlisle said moments before Hutchence took his life, she saw him and somehow realized that he wasn’t going to live that long. Even long before it became obvious that Hutchence had a problem, Carlisle said she knew it in 1984 that somehow, Hutchence was going to die early. With that said, she said she wasn’t surprised when she learnt that he had taken his own life.
On her relationship with Hutchence, Carlisle said, “It was more friendship, but I guess you could say romance. He was a heartbreaker, totally. But I was smart enough not to be too serious about someone like that because he’d just break your heart. He had a charisma I’ve never seen in anyone else.”
The 52-year-old singer also confessed that she struggled with cocaine for 30 years.
