Jan 15, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Oprah Winfrey’s cable network is all to air “Becoming Chaz,” a documentary that is based upon the transformation of Sonny and Cher Bono’s daughter, Chastity into their son, Chaz. Before this documentary makes it way on to Oprah Winfrey’s cable network, it is supposed to be premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on the 23rd of this month. From this film festival itself, Oprah Winfrey supposedly plans to pick up around six documentaries to be aired on her new network.

According to sources, “Becoming Chaz” tells about the transformation which Chastity went from being a girl to becoming a boy. As the documentary says, Chaz Bono was a male who was trapped in the shell of a female for a very long time. He felt it difficult to remain a girl as the adorable “golden-haired daughter” of Cher and Sonny Bono. To transcend from a girl to a boy, it took a long time for him. Now that he has undergone the gender transformation, Chaz Bono has bravely decided to share the entire process with the audiences. “Becoming Chaz” invites the viewers to go through the remarkable journey of Chaz’s transformation. From change of hormones, to undergoing of surgeries, this man’s face lights up as he speaks of the sense of liberation he has experienced.

Chaz Bono’s gender transformation has been misunderstood over the years and Oprah Winfrey feels that by airing this documentary, a good number of people would be able to know the truth. The best part of this transformation for Chaz Bono is that his girlfriend, has taken the matter in her stride and they are enjoying themselves to the fullest. The date when this documentary would be aired on television has not yet been confirmed as yet.
