Beauty queen off to Bollywood after Miss England disappointment
September 26th, 2010 - 5:15 pm ICT by ANILondon, Sep 26 (ANI): Amy Jackson is embarking on a career in Bollywood after her Miss England disappointment.
Jackson, the reigning Miss Liverpool finished only third in the final earlier this month, despite being the bookies’ favourite to win.
Amy’s photo was spotted on the website of the Miss England contest by top Indian film director A.L. Vijay.
And she ended up starring as British heroine Amy Wilkinson in his movie ‘Madrasapattinam’ despite never having acted before.
She has also been signed up to appear in two more blockbusters.
The former Miss Teen World, 18, said on her blog that the reaction to her in India had been “incredible”.
“I feel so privileged to be accepted into the industry. I feel very fortunate,” the Daily Star quoted her as saying.
But she is also hoping to make an impact on British TV screens.
She is shooting a BBC documentary about her journey from her parents’ home in Liverpool, to the bright lights of Bollywood. (ANI)
