Baz Luhrmann going to judge ‘Dancing with the Stars’

baz Los Angeles, Sep 29 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The famed director of ‘Moulin Rouge’ Baz Luhrmann is going to be a judge on the show ‘Dancing with the Stars’ for a week, while another judge Len Goodmaan takes a break.

The 47-year-old Australian filmmaker wrote and directed “Strictly Ballroom” in 1992, which launched his film career.

“Dancing” host Tom Bergeron says that movie “was a major inspiration in the creation of this little show.”

Luhrmann says his mother was a professional ballroom judge and that he called her for advice before his two-day stint on “Dancing.”

On the show, Singer Macy Gray and Ashley Hamilton, son of actor George Hamilton, have already been eliminated earlier.

Among the stars taking part in the US show are Kelly Osbourne, Donny Osmond and politician Tom DeLay.

Luhrmann is married to Catherine Martin, the production designer on all of his films. They have two children, Lillian Amanda Luhrmann and William Alexander Luhrmann.

Baz Luhrmann is a Golden Globe and Academy award-nominated Australian film director, screenwriter, and producer. Aside from his numerous Hollywood hits (such as Moulin Rouge), Luhrmann is well known for the The Red Curtain Trilogy.
