Bart Simpsons voiceover artist lends her voice to Scientology

Melbourne, Jan 29 (ANI): American voice artist Nancy Cartwright, who has been the voice behind Bart Simpson for more than 20 years, has lent her voice to promote an upcoming Scientology event in Hollywood.

Cartwrights voice is featured in an automated phone call, posted by celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, promoting the event, and she can be heard greeting listeners as Bart Simpson, reports the Daily Telegraph.

She then revealed her true identity, while at the same time laughing in the animated character’’s style, and ending several of her sentences with man in the style of the perpetual 10-year-old.

Matt Groening, who is the creator of The Simpsons, has not made any comments on Cartwright’’s use of Bart Simpson’’s voice and mannerisms.

Cartwright, who is a Scientologist since 1989, helped poke fun at her religion in the series” 1998 episode, The Joy of Sect, which saw the Simpsons join a cult called the Movementarians, based in part on Scientology. (ANI)
