Barrymore - happy being imperfect
August 25th, 2010 - 2:15 pm ICT by IANSLondon, Aug 25 (IANS) Actress Drew Barrymore is glad she isn’t perfect because she feels her flaws have made her a stronger person.
The actress, who has been in rehab three times and has had two short-lived marriages, doesn’t worry about the “low points” in her life.
“The low points I had all helped make up my character, so I probably wouldn’t want to do away with them because I like being flawed and I like having them help me grow and change and become better and stronger,” femalefirst.co.uk quoted her as saying.
Barrymore refuses to blame her troubled parents - John and Jaid Barrymore - who divorced when the actress was young and later died due to their addiction problems - for anything that went wrong in her life, including her first stint in rehab when she was just 15.
“You can’t live your life blaming your failures on your parents and what they did or didn’t do for you. You’re dealt the cards that you’re dealt. I realised it was a waste of time to be angry at my parents and feel sorry for myself,” she said.
