Barry Manilow: Still Entertaining Us

Barry Manilow is among those popular personalities who does not need an introduction. A splendid singer, musician, performer, Barry Manilow is really a great name in the music scenario of the world today. Though 66 years of age, it seems that there is no stopping this singer. Until recently he was involved in a lot of news that kept him in the limelight.
One of his major recent ventures this week includes his work “Barry Manilow’s Copacabana” which is a musical. It will be shown for two successive weeks at the Benedum Center. Manilow’s work will be the inaugural show of the Pittsburgh Civil Light Opera on July 21. This musical, which has been written by him along with composing the music, had its premiere in the same opera in 2000. The catch of the show will be the musician himself being present who will be performing to his famous hits as well. Manilow who says, “Music is a part of me” had a hard time choosing the songs he will be performing.
On Saturday, he was on stage at the National Symphony Orchestra’s annual A Capitol Fourth concert.
Being a musician he is utterly shattered hearing about the death of Michael Jackson and told ET early this week, “[Michael] will go down as one of history’s greatest entertainer.” It was being reported that he will be escorting actress Elizabeth Taylor to Michael Jackson’s funeral in the weekend.
There is a show of Manilow coming up on the July 7 at Rochester, New York where the singer is auctioning the VIP concert experience for benefiting the Manilow Music concert. With so many Manilow shows coming up, his fans will surely have an entertaining time ahead.
