Barbara Mandrell enters ‘Hall of Fame’ at CMA 2009

Barbara Mandrell Nashville, Nov 12 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The 43rd edition of the Country Music Awards held at Sommet Center in Nashville. It was a record of sorts as loads of new talent won in major categories. Barbara Mandrell was honored and she entered the ‘Hall of Fame’ too. Martina McBride and George performed on “I Was Country When Country Wasn’t Cool” as a tribute to Barbara Mandrell.

Barbara Mandrell is no stranger to records and awards. She is the only country musician to win the prestigious ‘Entertainer of the year on two separate occasions. In addition she has also been the Female Vocalist of the Year a record two times.

Barbara Mandrell generously praised Taylor Swift for her amazing achievement of winning Entertainer of the Year award. Taylor Swift made history by being the youngest person to ever win the award, and only the third female ever to do so.

Barbara Mandrell gushed that she is looking forward to seeing how far Taylor Swift, can go in her flourishing country music career. She stated that she would be very excited to watch her climb up the success ladder.
