Bangladesh To Conduct Uttam Kumar Retrospective From July 23
July 19th, 2010 - 4:56 pm ICT by Sampurn WireJuly 19, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Bangladesh is going to have a three day retrospective show on Bengali legendary actor Uttam Kumar, which will take place at the main auditorium of the National Museum at Shahbagh in Dhaka. The three-day festival will feature eight films of the veteran actor from July 23.
The programme will be inaugurated on July 23 at 3:00 pm by Abul Kalam Azad, the Information and Cultural Affairs Minister. The festival was organized by the Indian High Commission’s Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre to celebrate the 30th death anniversary of the legend on July 24.
On the inaugural day, the viewers will get to watch the movies Nayak at 3:30 pm and Harano Sur at 6:45pm. On July 24, the organizers will screen Dhonni Meye at 11:00 am, Chhaddobeshi at 3:30 pm, and Shaptopodi at 6:45 pm.
The festival will conclude on July 25 with the screening of Uttam Kumar movies like Chowrangi, Stree, and Pothe Holo Deri at 11:00 am, 3:30 pm and at 6:45 pm respectively.
The Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre in Gulshan and Dhanmondi has started providing the complimentary passes for every show from July 18.
