Baldwin forms cleanup crew to aid oil spill victims
August 29th, 2010 - 7:34 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )London, Aug 29 (IANS) Actor Stephen Baldwin has formed a rapid response environmental cleanup organisation to aid victims of America’s Gulf Coast region struck by a massive oil spill in April.
The actor spent several weeks in the region producing his new documentary, “The Will to Drill”, about the environmental disaster and its potential impact.
Now he’s urging Americans not to forget the affected areas despite news the oil spill has been capped because there are still millions of gallons of oil in the Gulf that could possibly wash up on shore.
And he’s formed the Thunder Response Group, a rapid response environmental cleanup organisation, to work alongside officials in Walton County, Florida to make sure new clean beach skimming systems are safe, reports dailystar.co.uk.
“With the opening of a new airport in Panama City, the timing is right for all of us who can assist because it is only by continuous support and aid that the entire nation can help reignite the economic setback that this region has suffered. We need to help those that have lost loved ones and had their lives devastated by this disaster,” he said.
On Monday Baldwin and County officials will hold demonstration of the Borco Last Line of Defense Clean Beach Skimming Systems on the beach.
