BAFTA to honour Richard Curtis

November 14th, 2007 - 1:54 am ICT by admin
Curtis, best known for writing hit romantic comedies such as “Four Weddings and a Funeral,” “Notting Hill” and “Love Actually”, will be receiving the humanitarian award at the event.

Presented by Volvo, kudo is given to a member of the film or television industry who has devoted time and effort to philanthropy in the community.

And Curtis certainly fits the bill, for he has raised nearly 1 billion dollars for charity through U.K. Comic Relief which he founded in 1985.

The event takes place November 1. (ANI)
