Bacardi Blast to begin Saturday in Goa
December 18th, 2009 - 10:55 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Panaji, Dec 18 (IANS) Bacardi Blast, a two-day dance-music festival, begins here Saturday, a day after Goa Home Minister Ravi Naik told the state legislative assembly that Pakistan-based terror groups wanted to execute “spectacular violence” in the state.
The organisers of the show, however, said that ample precautions have been taken as far as the security cover for the event was concerned.
“We have roped in the Goa police, private security personnel, sniffer dogs, etc. Multi-level security precautions have been taken,” Farhad Wadia, chief executive officer of E-18, one of the organisers, said.
“We are all aware of the heightened threat perception. But we are extremely well prepared. We even have a Rs.4 crore insurance package for the two days, which includes terror insurance,” Wadia added.
The Bacardi Blast, which will be held in Panaji over the weekend will also include live performances from leading Indian performers like Lost Stories, Shaair n Func, Order of the Essence, B.L.O.T. along with renowned international talent such as live acts by Chicane and Sister Bliss in a live band format, instead of a mere DJ experience.
