Apr 13 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Just a few days after she had been released from the hospital to go home for the first time, tiny baby Josie Duggar has been re-admitted on Thursday, April 8. The littlest star of The Learning Channel’s “19 Kids And Counting” was said to be suffering from ‘minor stomach issues’.

Josie Brooklyn Duggar was born very prematurely, at just 25 weeks gestation. She only weighed 1 pound and six ounces and was born by emergency C section. The micro-premie had to struggle for her life as many complications took place, such as a bowel perforation surgery which became necessary when she was just 8 days old. Josie was in the Arkansas Children’s Hospital’s neonatal intensive care department for the four months of her life, and her homecoming will be featured on the television show on May 9.

Just a few days ago, Josie got to see sunlight for the first time, when she was finally released from the hospital. She weighed four pounds and nine ounces and was eating every three hours. She was also able to breathe on her own. The doctors decided that she was ready to go home, although it was very clear that the hospital staff would miss this spirited little girl. Her doctor, Robert Arrington was proud and sad at the same time. “I will miss being around the baby and the family,” Arrington says. “They are very nice people. But they’ve told me they will stay in touch and come by the nursery to let us see her.” As the parents drove away from the hospital, little Josie in tow, Arrington made the statement, “This is the first time Josie has seen sunlight.”

Now Josie is back in the hospital and said to be in stable condition. Her father, Jim Bob Duggar, told the press that she had “fluctuating vital signs,” but that she was doing better now. “We realized early that it would be a long, unpredictable recovery, which is why we opted to stay in Little Rock close to the expert staff at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.” (The family’s home is in Springdale, Ark.)

“Currently, Josie is healthy and in stable condition; we hope to have her back with the family in the next few days,” they continued “As always, our entire family is grateful for the continued prayers and support.” The parents told UsMagazine.
