Los Angeles, Apr 21, (THAINDIAN NEWS) MTV has declared the host of the channel’s yearly movie awards and the job has been offered to Aziz Ansari. He is a comedian who also appeared in Parks and Recreation, a NBC comedy show earlier. MTV confirmed the news on Monday. He was also a part of Human Giant, a MTV sketch series. The comedian was quite stunned when he came to know about the development. He said that he did not think that the task will be offered to him when the channel has so many candidates belonging to its reality show teams.

The MTV Movie Awards 2010 will take place in California’s Gibson Amphitheater located in Universal City. The date of the ceremony has been set as June 6th. Mark Burnett, a reality show producer will act as the show’s executive producer. Stephen Friedman, MTV’s Network general manager thinks that the viewers of the channel liked the performance of Aziz Ansari in Human Giant. The sketch comedy show ran on the channel for two successive seasons starting from 2007. He said in his statement that for the MTV Movie Awards 2010 host, Aziz Ansari fits the bill perfectly.

Aziz Ansari is quite excited at the development and a tad surprised to. However, he said that it will give him a chance to go through a different kind of experience. He also added that he talked with previous hosts of MTV Movie Awards including Andy Samberg, Ben Stiller and Sarah Silverman for advice. The actor comedian also said that in future he would love to be a part of a kid’s choice award.
