Universal City, June 7, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The stand-up comedian of the “Parks and Recreation” fame Aziz Ansari was the chosen host for the 19th MTV Movie Awards ceremony that was held at the Gibson Amphitheater of the Universal Studio.

The host who is known for his quick witted jokes and funny statements lived up to the expectation of the glamorous audience that was present at the venue and also that of the million others who remained glued to their television sets to witness the award ceremony.

Aziz Ansari appeared on stage wearing a white tuxedo jacket and a bow tie and began the show by cracking jokes on the 3D movies and “The Twilight Saga: New Moon”. Though it left people laughing loud, he had to move out of the stage as the award giving ceremony began and many well known performers took the stage to perform.

Back on stage after some performances, Aziz Ansari paid his bit of tribute to “Avatar” and crooned a song like Robert Sylvester Kelly. Aziz Ansari in his usual funny way provided a quick synopsis of “Avatar” and talked about BP that left the crowd laughing.

After a short exit from the stage he returned to it with a short sketch. His comic statements no doubt added fun and humor to one of the most glamorous award ceremonies of Hollywood.

Aziz Ansari had previously said to media sources that he is excited that he has been given the responsibility to host the MTV Movie Awards. He had said that he had prepared to host the show for a long time and on Sunday, his dedication was evident from the way he hosted the whole event.
