Ayesha Dharker to quit Weatherfield
April 29th, 2009 - 2:02 pm ICT by ANILondon, Apr 29 (ANI): American-Indian actress Ayesha Dharker is set to quit ‘Weatherfield’ - just 6 months after joining.
The 31-year-old former Bollywood star, who plays Tara Mandal on the hit show, will leave next month.
Her final scenes on the show will see her cheating boyfriend Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) “humiliated on a grand scale”, the actress revealed.
“I’ve enjoyed playing Tara because she’s different to me,” The Sun quoted Dharker, as saying.
Dharker has previously appeared in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Doctor Who. (ANI)
