London, Oct 15 (IANS) Singer Avril Lavigne’s husband Deryck Whibley has slammed reports that the couple are heading for a split.Avril and Deryck, who tied the knot in 2006, stepped out in a show of solidarity Tuesday night, holding hands as they left a club in Hollywood, reports thesun.co.uk.

“For the record, we strongly deny the inference of marital problems between Avril and Deryck. Deryck has in fact been travelling through Asia performing with Avril as evidenced by the numerous YouTube videos,” read a statement released by Deryck’s management firm Nettwerk Music Group.

Rumours of their split were fuelled when Deryck was spotted at a Los Angeles event last wee “huddled at a private table” and holding hands with an unknown woman.
