Jan 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Canadian musical artist Avril Lavigne created quite a buzz when she appeared as the guest judge in the popular musical reality series “American Idol’ on Tuesday night. The latest episode of the reality show, which is in its ninth season this time, featured the auditions that took place in Los Angeles. Last night’s episode received huge viewership owing to the presence of the “I’m With You” singer along with musical artist Katy Perry as the guest judge.

The Los Angeles audition managed to live up to the expectations of the viewers with its host of interesting performances displayed by the contestants. One of the contestants who left Avril Lavigne highly impressed was 28-year-old California resident Mary Powers, who sang an amazing rendition of Pat Benatar’s “Love Is a Battlefield.” While expressing her views about the female contestant, the 25 year old guest judge added that she liked her raspy voice as it had a cool tone.

At the same time, the much acclaimed singer also managed to grab much attention with her devil-ear hoodie as well as the armful of plastic bangles that she wore while adorning the judge’s hat. The singer showered the contestants with praises whose performance she enjoyed but could not help laughing uncontrollably when the worst singers performed. However, the presence of the young musical artist surely turned out to be a huge treat for all her fans who tuned in to watch the much anticipated episode.

Meanwhile, Avril Lavigne’s appearance on the reality show has resulted in an upsurge in speculations about the age of the singer, as large of number netizens are searching the internet to gather information about her.
