‘Avatar’ star Zoe Saldana calls herself sci-fi geek
December 23rd, 2009 - 4:57 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )London, Dec 23 (ANI): ‘Avatar’ actress Zoe Saldana, who’s riding high on the success of her latest film, proudly calls herself a science fiction geek.
The 31-year-old star, who shot to fame in J.J. Abram’s Star Trek earlier this year (09), says she is thrilled she is best known for her roles in sci-fi epics.
While talking to People magazine, Saldana says she loves meeting up with fans of her fantasy movies - comparing it to “preaching to my choir”.
“For me, it’s been like preaching to my choir, because I was considered what you would think of as a geek,” the Daily Express quoted her as saying.
“I loved stories that helped me escape, and those happened to be the stories that fall into the category of geekiness. So, therefore, I am a proud geek!” she added. (ANI)
