Los Angeles, Dec.21, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The much anticipated James Cameroon movie ‘Avatar‘ lived up to the box office expectations of its producers as the movie received record-breaking opening in the first weekend of its release. However, it is being presumed that the movie could have opened to more audiences across United States, if not for the unfavorable weather conditions that gripped parts of the country.
Distributors have revealed that the long awaited movie has earned around $73 million in North America as sales were affected by the snow storms that prevented movie goers from venturing out. Earlier it was being estimated that the much anticipated film would surely gross something around $85 million but the bad weather seemed to have acted as the spoilt sport.
