Avatar becomes highest grossing film in U.K. box office history

The Oscar-nominated blockbuster raked in 4.3 million pounds in its eighth week of release (01-07Feb10), pushing it over the 72-million-pound mark since it hit cinemas in December (09), reports The Daily Express.
Thanks to the massive ticket sales, Avatar has now overtaken Abba musical Mamma Mia! to become Britain’s best-selling film ever. (ANI)
