avatarMar 15, (THAINDIAN NEWS) There is some real good news for all the fan of James Cameron’s 3D extravaganza Avatar, as the Oscar nominated movie is all set to be re-released in summer. It has come to light that director James Cameron and Fox Studios are considering releasing the much acclaimed film once again in late summer, primarily in 3D theaters.

According to reports, the visual delight for the audiences is expected to get accentuated in the re-released version as it would include additional scenes which were excluded from the movie during its December 18 release last year. At the same time, the decision to release the science fiction blockbuster once again was supposedly taken after the movie had to depart from digital and Imax 3D screens owing to the launch of the flick Alice In Wonderland by Disney on March 5. Despite the fact that Avatar has been successful in making box office history as it has been named the highest grossing movie ever, the producers feel that the James Cameron movie could have turned more profitable for them if it had been able to continue screening in the digital and 3D screens.

Meanwhile, anticipation about the re-released version has been gradually escalating since Imax CEO Richard Gelford has revealed that around 40 minutes of the original flick was chopped off from the film in order to meet the December 18 release deadline. However, the re-released version would include only 10 minutes of additional scenes to keep in under the 170 minutes duration which is the maximum length of a flick that can be released in Imax theaters.
