London, Apr 6 (ANI): In her new book ‘All That is Bitter and Sweet,’ actress Ashley Judd has opened up about her traumatic childhood, chronic drug use by family members and her incest hell.

In the book, Ashley shares her memories of her unhappy childhood growing up with her country legend mother Naomi Judd and singer sister Wynonna.

She says her mother’s ambitions and rise to stardom in her younger years was the basis of much of the dysfunction in her family home.

The Kiss The Girls star claims she was also exposed to chronic drug use which for a long time she was thought was “normal”

“There was always marijuana inside the house,” the Daily Mail quoted her as saying when she appeared on ‘The Today Show’ to promote her heartfelt tome.
Her parents divorced when Ashley was four-years-old and the actress admitted to suffering from depression from when she was as young as seven.

Ashley also claims she was a victim of sexual abuse and incest as a young girl.

Judd said she had finally overcome her emotional issues when she went through rehab in February 2006 when she was “sick and tired of being sick and tired.”During the therapy Judd discovered repressed memories of the sexual abuse.

“You know, it’s too late to go back and have a happy childhood, but by the grace of God and you know, a pretty simple program of recovery and fellowship, life is good today,” she added. (ANI)
