Feb 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Pop singer Ashlee Simpson and her musician husband Pete Wentz have decided to part ways and the couple have filed for divorce, reports say. “The Ashlee Simpson Show” star and her former Fall Out Boy bassist husband who tied the knot in the year 2008, have taken the decision to end their marriage citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for their split. The news of the separation of the 26-year-old pop singer and Pete Wentz has come as quite a shocker to the followers of the couple as reports of any kind of discord between them had been unavailable all this while.

A statement that was released by a spokesperson of the rock star couple said that after much deliberation, Ashlee Simpson and her musician husband took the decision of going their separate ways and consequently, they have filed for at the Los Angeles Superior County Superior Court on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the ‘Just Let Me Cry’ singer who has a two-year-old son Bronx Mowgli with Pete Wentz is said to have sought joint legal custody as well as primary physical custody their child. At the same time, it has also been reported that Ashlee Simpson has appealed that her soon-to-be former husband be granted visitation rights.

The couple who walked down the aisle in the month of May in 2008, are not known to have signed a pre-nuptial agreement. Although intrinsic details about what actually led the couple to take the final step of ending their marriage has not been affirmed to media, sources close to the rock star pair have hinted that Pete Wentz’s ‘erratic behavior’ might have been one of the reasons which resulted in their split.
