Los Angeles, Oct 3 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Against the expectations of everyone, the creators of the television series Arrested Development says a new season of the show is coming up. The announcement also stated that a movie of the franchise has also been planned and will get to the production stage soon.

Mitch Hurwitz, who is the creator of the show, reportedly announced at a cast reunion recently that the new season will have between 9 and 10 episodes.

Hurwitz gave a gist of what fans should watch out for. He revealed that, “We’re kinda picturing it like…there’s all these scientists in lab coats and they’re waiting for somebody and Buster comes through the door wearing a lab quote and says `let’s begin,’ and they say, `you don’t get to wear the lab coat, we’re experimenting on you.”

It is currently not known which network will air the new series. Before the comedy ended, it was aired on FOX but it is not clear if the network will be ready and willing to have another season of the show. Showtime and Netflix are reportedly considering putting an offer for the new episodes.

Arrested Development was cancelled about five years ago. Showtime was one of the networks that tried to get the show back but failed.
