Aretha Franklin Cancels Performances Till May Due To Health Issues

Nov 4, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin has canceled all her concert dates and personal appearances till May next year due to health concerns. The singer’s physician has advised her to cancel the performances after her recent hospitalization. The singer was released on Saturday after a brief visit to the hospital due to an undisclosed medical condition. Her representatives addressed the media and informed about the cancellations. They also refused to reveal whether the cancellations were related to her recent stay at the hospital.
Aretha Franklin was scheduled to appear in a Christmas themed concert on December and also had a couple of shows lined up in February in New York City. Aretha Franklin also called off her two performances in Missouri and Virginia last week. Earlier this year the singer suffered a bad fall which broke two of her ribs. The injury led her to cancel two concerts in New York.
Considered one of the Greatest Singers of All Time by Rolling Stone magazine, Aretha Franklin is one of the most respected soul artists of the century. She became the first female singer to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. With a tally of 18 competitive Grammys and 2 honorary, she is one of the most influential soul singers of all time. She was the only featured singer in the 2009 Presidential Inauguration of Barack Obama.
A statement released by star’s publicist confirmed that she was comfortable at home after her brief stay at the hospital. The statement also apologized to the fans and the colleagues and said that the singer was anxious to get back on the road and perform.
