Apple’s iPhone, ‘The Situation’ Among The Top 10 Entertainment Application Grossers

September 22, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Mike Sorrentino, the reality star of MTV found his iPhone application soaring into the bracket of the top 10 biggest grossers as far as entertainment applications are concerned, revealed an Apple spokesperson. The iPhone application titled ‘The Situation’ had been released last Thursday.
‘The Situation’ costs $4.99 and is available on iTunes too. It acts as a ‘Jersey Shore’ companion for the fans of the show. It offers its users simple GTL functions like tracing the local gym as well as the tanning and laundry facilities. A workout routine destined to give you sculpted abs has been crafted by the star himself and the application also contains a video game called the ‘Grenade Dodger’, interactive in nature. The Situation includes a soundbox with the most memorable quips of Sorrentino along with a link to ‘The Sitch’ for sending e-mails directly to him.
The spokesperson for Apple, Adam Matuzich told the Holywood Reporter that the application has been selling briskly and has done extremely well so far. However, the representatives of Apple declined to reveal the exact sales figures of ‘The Situation’.
Sorrentino, known to be a reality star of the hit ‘Jersey Shore’ is all set to earn $5 million from his various ventures which includes endorsements as well. Ballroom dancing, though, does not seem to be his forte. He had managed to tie with David Hasselhoff and comedian Margaret Cho in the first episode of this season’s ‘Dancing with the Stars’ aired on Monday. The scores were abysmally low for the Situation star as he managed only 15 points from a maximum of 30.
