Apex court allows Sanjay Dutt to go abroad for six months

New Delhi, May 8 (IANS) The Supreme Court Friday allowed Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt to go abroad yet again - this time for over six months, to enable him to undertake shooting of around half a dozen of his films.
A bench of Chief Justice K.G. Balakrishnan, Justice Arijit Pasayat and Justice P. Sathasivam ordered the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to release Dutt’s passport to enable him undertake his foreign trips.
The bench also ordered Dutt to submit his passport to the CBI latest by January 10 after his return.
The bench allowed Dutt’s visit abroad on his plea that he had to undertake the shooting of around half a dozen films at various places abroad.
Appearing for Dutt, senior counsel and former additional solicitor general Mukul Rohtagi told the court that his client has six films lined for shooting abroad.
The films pending for shooting abroad include “All the Best”, “The Fun Begins”, “No Problem”, “Double Dhamaal”, “Sankee”, and “Indian”, said Rohtagi adding that shootings are scheduled between June 10 and Dec 31 in South Africa and Canada.
