Major problems have occurred in the path to the release of director and actress Aparna Sen’s ‘Iti Mrinalini’. But it has been a smooth ride in Chennai. Reports claim that Aparna Sen’s last directorial venture ‘Iti Mrinalini’ will be showcased at the Chennai International Film Festival. In fact the actress is presently in Chennai to talk about her movie which also stars her actress daughter Konkona Sen Sharma. Speaking about her cinematic experience in Chennai, Aparna Sen says that she has always loved the South Indian city and loves coming back here again and again, not only when her films are screened in Chennai but also to catch up with the few friends she has in the city. And of course who can ever forget that it was here that Konkona Sen Sharma picked up her accent for her mom’s ‘Mr and Mrs Iyer’.

Aparna Sen shares not only her cinematic experiences with the media in Chennai but also her experience of being a mother in law to Ranvir Shorey, Konkona Sen Sharma’s hubby. She’s used to seeing Ranvir Shorey around says the enigmatic actress cum director, so she’s also used to acting as a mother in law ever since the couple moved in together.

The release date for ‘Iti Mrinalini’ has been fixed on the 21st of January next year in Bengal, but Aparna Sen is still not sure as to whether the film will be released in other cities across India as well.
