June 29, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Nikhil Advani has chosen the relatively new actress Anushka Sharma to play the leading lady opposite Akshay Kumar in his upcoming movie Patiala House.

However, there is a reason behind choosing Anushka over any other top actresses. The sources inform that Nikhil has thought in the same lines as Aditya Chopra did when he cast Anushka in the movie Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi starring Shah Rukh Khan. The filmmaker wanted to keep the focus on the male actor Suri.

Nikhil also wants the audience to focus on the role of Akshay Kumar in the movie. At the same time, he wanted the characters to appear real in the film. However, the sources claim that the movie will offer Anushka a much stronger character than her character in Aditya Chopra’s movie.

Patiala House is reportedly a film with real characters, real emotions and real moments. He will put a tagline with his film as “A film by Nikhil Advani’. The director wants to thank Aditya for casting Anushka in his film.

The movie will also have veteran actors Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia in vital roles, who as a couple have given hits like Bobby. Patiala House deals with a second-generation Sikh in London, who sacrifices his dreams to protect the reputation of his father.
