May 31, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Anthony Harley, better known as Little Benny, known for having been a pioneer of sorts in the musical circuit of Washington D.C., passed away in Sunday, according to reports. His sad demise occurred at an abnormally premature age; he was only 46 years old at the time of his death. However, not much is known about the cause of his death, in fact, nothing is known, to be precise. The news of the death of the trumpet player was confirmed by very close business associate cum friend, Keith Galloway. Apparently, Keith Galloway had confirmed that Little Benny had passed away while he was asleep at night.

The death of Anthony “Little Benny” Harley naturally came as a huge shock for all those who had been close to him, and also those who had practically grown up on his genre of funk music, something that is the essence of the city, and something of which he is regarded as being somewhat of a pioneer. Naturally, his death is a sad occasion or all those who had loved his trumpeting, and needless to say, very sudden. Just a few days back, he had wrapped up a gig in Capitol Hill.

However, it was well known that the trumpeter was not keeping particularly well for quite some time now, although it was not expected that his illness would turn out to be fatal. He was often seen being supported by a cane while going on and off the stage. According to reports provided by friends, his health had been failing ever since he had undergone a major surgery of a herniated disk and a hipbone.
