London, Jan 1 (ANI): Brit comedians Anthony “Ant” McPartlin and Declan “Dec” Donnelly have for the first time decided to enjoy the festivities away from one another.

This is the first time the two have spent Christmas and New Year apart, after Ant’s wife Lisa ordered him to ditch his sidekick so they could spend their first Christmas alone.

Ant broke the news to Dec then fled the country - after booking a romantic, five-star retreat in the Far East for himself and his wife.

But it seems Dec wasn’t exactly devastated at the thought of seeing in the New Year without Ant, and has whisked girlfriend Georgie Thompson on a surprise all-expenses-paid holiday to Zanzibar.

“This is the first Christmas and New Year that Ant and Dec have spent apart in almost 10 years,” the Mirror quoted a source as saying.

“It just shows how loved-up Dec is with Georgie that he didn’t mind not celebrating the festivities with his best mate for once.

“Dec and Georgie couldn’t spend Christmas together so he wanted to do something special for New Year. Having 2010 dawn while they are in the air means it will be only the two of them.

“Dec said he wants to start the year as he intends it to end - with Georgie. Everyone thinks this is going to lead somewhere,” the source added. (ANI)
