Another Zorro movie is in the pipeline
April 28th, 2011 - 10:31 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLos Angeles, April 28 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Reports on the Internet say there is going to be another Zorro movie. This time the character is not going to be the mask-wearing bandit as Antonio Banderas was.
The report claims that FOX is working to come out with the project titled “Zorro Reborn.” According to the report, the new movie is going to be set in the future. LA Times say the script of the movie is being worked on by Lee Shipman and Brian McGreevy.
If the reports turn out to be true then the Zorro franchise will be turning on its head. The character is always set in the 19th century fighting oppressive imperials. The new movie is going to be set in the post- apocalyptic era. The report claims that the new Zorro who will be living in future Mexico will be “a one-man vigilante force bent on revenge.”
There has not been any formal confirmation from FOX concerning the reports. There is a growing debate on whether the movie is going to be made or not. A Zorro movie that completely takes the character out of the iconic figure does not appeal to some people.
