London, January 31 (ANI): Former catwalk model Inga Radziejewski has revealed how she was turned away by the fashion industry for being ‘too fat’ - despite being a size 00.

The 5ft 11 stunner said she reduced herself to a mere seven stone in the grip of anorexia that left her on the verge of organ failure.

“I was incredibly skinny but at fittings for designers like ­Christian Dior the clothes were so small that even though I was ­anorexic, I still struggled to get in them - despite my measurements being 27in chest, 21in waist and 27.5in hips,” the Mirror quoted her as saying.

She continued: “At one job for a ­German TV channel I overheard a casting ­director say, ‘She has got a too-big ass.’ I was already very skinny, but it made me even more determined to stay slim and I found every reason not to eat. At my worst I was eating just half an apple a day and drinking lots of peppermint tea with brown sugar and I still thought I would get fat.”

Ing, who walked the ramp for Christian Dior, Miss Sixty, H&M and Benetton and had a part in the James Bond film Quantum of Solace, returned to a healthy size 12 and weighing 10st 9lbs after seeking treatment.

She added: “I know that my career in high fashion is now over and part of me is sad about that, but if I hadn’t gone into rehab, the cost would have been a lot higher. I could have died.

“Last year was the toughest and ­hardest of my life and often I hoped I would just die. But now I’m with a new agency called Models of Diversity who have supported me and I’m getting work as a normal model. At first it was hard to get used to my new figure, I hated looking in the mirror and thought I looked terrible.

“But I’m happy I pulled through and I think I look great.” (ANI)
