annieMay 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Annie Parisse stars in the latest original series launched by HBO, “The Pacific”. In the series, produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, the actress plays the part of Sergeant Lena Riggi, based in the backdrop of the second world war. The actress, who is known for her roles in television shows such as “Law And Order” and films such as “Monster In Law” and “National Treasure,” has portrayed her part with elan, explaining why she is one of the most sought after actresses in the television scenario of the United States.

Annie Parisse plays the role of Sergeant Lena Riggi in the HBO miniseries and the character is an unusually tough one, considering that it is one of the no-nonsense types. Romanced by Basilone, she is initially nonreciprocating to his advances, but slowly falls for his charms and persecution. In the latest episode of the show, that is, the eighth installment of the series, she is unusually good, and her performance earned her quite a lot of critical acclaim. Entitled ‘Iwo Jima,’ this part of the series was mostly about her romance with Basilone, played to perfection by Jon Seda.

The romance has been depicted as a rather cute and intense one although it is a whirlwind affair. Annie Parisse shines in her role, just as she did in the other episode that she had appeared. Soon enough, however, they both have to bid goodbye to their new found romance, as Basilone has to leave. Most striking is Annie Parisse’s portrayal of the character, underplayed at first, but slowly becoming the heart of the episode.
