Nov 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Legendary American singer and activist Annie Lennox has released her latest Christmas album on Tuesday. The much anticipated album has already started receiving great review on the web and many are calling it the best holiday album worth buying.

The album features Annie Lennox’s interpretation of some of her favorite Christmas carols and also the new and modified version of her new hit ‘Universal Child’. The iconic singer also performed the song the ‘American Idol Gives Back’ special episode recently. The album was reported to be releasing on November 22 but the record label decided to release it a week ahead. Annie Lennox said that she was absolutely delighted to work on the record with Island Records and it was an album in which she wanted to work for many years. She also added that the album was a true labor of love and she felt fortunate to have such a cutting edge team to work with that allowed her creativity to flow freely. She also said that she wanted to create timeless music and ‘Christmas Cornucopia’ was the perfect opportunity to do that.

The proceeds from the new album with go to the Annie Lennox Foundation. The foundation raises money for the projects that contribute towards the education of the women and children in Africa who have HIV/AIDS. The album also features a rather haunting version of ‘The Coventry Carol (Lullay, Lullay)’ which refers to the plight of the children soldiers in Africa. Considered one of the greatest female singers in the UK, Annie Lennox’s album is expected to be one of the most sought after Christmas albums in the days to come.
